About the Production Assistant (Part-time) Role: 


BRIC seeks Production Assistants (Part-time) to assist with all aspects of production, marketing and distribution. This is a great opportunity to grow with an established local television network.


What You’ll Do in the Role:


The Production Assistants (Part-time) will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Operations Director, Community Media:

  • Assist with research and general pre-production needs (booking, scheduling, etc.)
  • Assist with field production
  • Assist with editing
  • Assist with content distribution/PR and marketing
  • Pitch and produce stories for and about Brooklyn


You’ll Bring these Skills and Strengths to the Role:

  • Mission & Values Alignment: A passion for BRIC’s support of the arts in Brooklyn and a deep commitment to building community, igniting learning and making change through the arts and creativity.
  • Experience. Proven writing and storytelling skills. Experience making video and/or audio content. Researching and fact-checking skills. Familiarity with studio and field audio recording equipment - Zoom and Tascam recorders, microphones, etc. Adept at social media promotion and versed in the social media landscape and tools. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to work and think independently.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven team player. Strong interpersonal skills, a relationship builder, and ability to communicate openly and effectively.
  • Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within the media production function. 


Other Things to Know:

  • Compensation: This is a union position under a collective bargaining agreement with NABET and an hourly rate of $15.00/hour.
  • Status and location: This is a part-time, non-exempt role based in our Brooklyn office. Hours are variable, as assigned.
